The FindRates review

We've done the homework.
You invest with confidence.

Before any institution appears on FindRates, it goes through a comprehensive review by our team. Four tests, every provider, no exceptions — so what you see here has already earned its place.

Our review is our own judgement and is regularly repeated — it is not a personal recommendation or a guarantee of performance. We always show our sources so you can verify each point yourself.

  1. 01

We verify the firm and its permissions

Every provider is checked against the FCA Register — the exact legal name, current permissions and contact details. No record, no place on FindRates.

  2. 02

We examine the company behind the offer

Registered office, filing history and accounts are reviewed at Companies House, so you know who actually stands behind the bond you're considering.

  3. 03

We check protection for the exact product

We look at whether the provider and product qualify for FSCS protection, and we show you how to confirm eligibility for your own circumstances.

We scrutinise the terms before we feature anything

Fees, withdrawal restrictions, how returns are paid and what could happen to your capital — we read the issuer's documents so the important points are never buried.

Who FindRates is for

Real people. Real reasons to compare.

Typical situations where investors use FindRates — illustrative examples, not customer testimonials.

Retiring soon

Making savings work harder

A couple in their 60s with £50,000 in a low-interest account want a fixed return they can plan around — without locking away money they might need for the unexpected.

Lump sum to place

Putting a windfall to work

After a house sale or inheritance, a professional wants to compare fixed-rate options side by side — term length, provider strength and protection — before committing a large sum.

First-time investor

Stepping beyond a savings account

Someone who has only ever used high-street savings wants to understand the difference between savings and investment bonds, the risks involved, and which providers are properly authorised.

Know what you’re comparing

Two types of bonds. Important differences.

Similar names don’t always mean similar products. Here’s where to start.

Fixed-rate savings bonds

Save with a bank or building society for a set period at a fixed interest rate. Access to your money is usually restricted until the term ends.

Eligible deposits are FSCS-protected up to £85,000 per person, per institution. Check the provider and your eligibility.

Investment bonds

Invest in products linked to companies or investments. Returns, access and risk vary, and interest payments or repayment are not guaranteed.

Your capital is at risk. Investment bonds do not automatically have deposit protection.

The FindRates approach

Clarity before commitment.

Financial decisions deserve more than a headline rate. FindRates starts with what you’re looking for and puts the important differences in plain sight.

We’re an introduction service, not a bank or a personal financial adviser. We don’t take your money, and we don’t compare the whole market.

Explore your options
A starting point that’s yours

Your amount, your timeframe and your preferences.

A balanced perspective

Understand risks alongside potential benefits. A higher rate isn’t the whole story.

You remain in control

Verify providers independently and take the time you need before making a decision.

A little more clarity

Good questions.
Straightforward answers.

The things worth knowing before taking your next financial step.

What is the difference between savings and investment bonds?

Fixed-rate savings bonds are usually deposit accounts held with a bank or building society. Investment bonds expose your capital to investment or issuer risk. Their protections, returns and withdrawal terms can be very different.

Is my money protected by the FSCS?

Eligible deposits with a UK-authorised bank or building society are protected up to £85,000 per person, per institution (£170,000 for joint accounts). Investment claims are treated differently, and the FSCS does not protect you against ordinary investment losses. Always check directly with the FSCS before proceeding.

Does FindRates give financial advice?

No. FindRates is an introduction service and does not provide personalised financial advice, manage money or arrange a payment. Speak with an appropriately authorised adviser if you need help deciding whether a product is suitable.

Will I see live bond rates?

The example rates shown on this page are illustrative, not a live feed from providers. Your preferences don’t produce a whole-of-market comparison or a product recommendation — they help the firm behind this service contact you with options that fit.

Am I committed to investing if I make an enquiry?

No. An enquiry is not an investment application, and you must never send payment or account information through this website. Your details are stored securely and used only to respond to your enquiry, as set out in the privacy policy.
